The Summer School of Personality Science (SSPS) is a week-long summer school sponsored by EAPP with approximately 12 –16 graduate students (master's and PhD level) and approximately 6 – 8 internationally renowned experts. It is broadly geared towards providing cutting-edge and specialized education as well as hands-on experience to young and budding personality psychologists from all over the world. The mini-curriculum, with different 1- to 2-hour course formats (e.g., keynotes, seminars, workshops, panel discussions, mentoring, luncheons), is designed to address a broad variety of current and important topics in personality science as well as provide student attendees with career advice and networking opportunities.
Application period: December 10, 2021 – January 4, 2022
SPSP will select two students to attend and reimburse up to $750 in travel expenses. Lodging and some meals (breakfast, lunch) will be provided free of cost to all accepted students.
- Applicants must be current SPSP graduate student members. Past participants of SISPP, EASP, EAPP, or SASP summer schools are not eligible to apply. You may apply to multiple 2022 summer schools (EASP, EAPP, SISPP), but may only attend one.
- EAPP student members will be selected and financially supported by the European Association of Personality Psychology. EAPP postgraduate members should not apply through the SPSP portal.
In 2022, the 2nd Summer School of Personality Science (SSPS) is set to take place in Madrid (Spain) from July 3 to 10, right before the European Conference on Personality (ECP). We are currently planning an in-person summer school in Madrid. However, should this not be possible due to pandemic reasons or restrictions, then the summer school may need to be held virtually.
